Luke Bates is a fuel cell¬ expert working in the APC’s Technology Trends team. He has a BSc in International Economics from Loughborough University and had worked at ABB prior to joining.
Luke recently authored the ‘Reducing the cost of fuel cells: how can it be done?’ report, which explores the cost reduction potential of a light duty hydrogen fuel cell system using a like-for-like $/kWh comparison to battery powertrains.
Luke has developed an industrial strategy for large-scale fuel cell production, hydrogen tank manufacturing and attracting foreign direct investments into the UK. He is also involved in publishing the APC’s quarterly demand report – an outlook into UK, Europe and World demands for EV technologies and materials thereof
